supercars? What criterion determines it? Typically the term is used when it comes to describing an ultra-high end automobile with superior performance. Others term vehicles

Early days of the finest vehicles The term
supercars are not a modern day thing. In 1920 an advertisement featured the Ensign Six along with the term
luxury supercar. The Oxford dictionary also cited the word in 1920 in conjunction with a British model and defined the term as a vehicle that was superior to all others.
The term
supercars become very popular in the mid-1960s when a British motor journalist wrote about the Lamborghini Miura. During this time in America the term was used in relation with the term muscle car. These vehicles were frequently equipped with powerful V8 engines which made them potent when used on drag strips.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s the term
supercars became liked with cars that had the letter GT in their name, the grand touring cars and at the end of the 80s the world was in frequent use. In general terms

Ferrari, Italian luxury
One name that stands out today in the world of
supercars is the Italian manufacturer Ferrari. The company started out in racing cars before moving on to street vehicles in 1947. Throughout the history of the company they have always been linked with the term
supercars both on the road and when it comes to the world of racing cars. Ferrari is well known for their superb designs, the sleek lines and elegant styling combined with power, these are all what have defined the term

Lamborghini, more luxury from Italy
No mention of the term
supercars would be complete without a mention of Lamborghini. Another famous Italian brand name that has been featured at one of the

supercars. In the 2011 show Lamborghini showed off their brand new
luxury car the Aventador LP700-4, the first of these superb vehicles, which deserve the name
supercars, will be handed over to the first customers in the late summer of 2011. Standing just one meter from the ground it features the upward opening doors that the manufacturer are well known for.

very best and have been awarded some of the most prestigious awards for their designs. One of the most famous designs to come from Porsche was the Cayenne which was termed among the
supercars is the Carrera GT. This is a mid-size
luxury vehicle also classed as a sports utility vehicle. Although it ceased production in 2006 it remains very popular.
Maybach, the ultimate when it comes to design
When it comes to the ultimate in
luxury supercars it has to be Maybach. This German manufacturer is the designer of
luxury automobiles that are tailor made to the exact customers needs. In 1997 the brand name was termed a
luxury concept car when it went on show at the Tokyo motor show, home to some of the
very best vehicles in the world. Maybach is unique in that each client is assigned their own personal liaison client to take them through the process of building their car from beginning to end.
