Plant A Fish is very fishy philanthropy due to the fact that the cause is based on replanting some of the most endangered exotic species of animals and plants around the globe.

The philanthropy efforts of Fabien Cousteau are behind the project with the aim being to replant more than one billion fish around the world. Fabien Cousteau is the grandson of the famous Jaques Cousteau. Fabien is an enviromental ambassador and film maker who has participated in some of the most outstanding nature films on TV including working alongside National Geographic. The Plant A Fish program will be based in key luxury locations around the globe with the foremost focus being on using timeless ecological principles that apply to all of the natural ecosystems around the world, along with being specific to certain species in certain luxury locations. These principles will be applied with the hope of engaging local communities to join in to restore their marine enviroment to the very best it has been.

The philanthropy program is split into different parts.
The Oyster program is set to help replenish oysters. One of the largest oyster bays in the world was the Hudson River. However dredging and over harvesting has led to them being wiped out and they are a very importnant species, serving as a natural filter of the very best in the seas. Fabien has got together with some of the very best schools such as the NY Harbor School along with the community. As part of the philanthropy efforts Plant A Fish will replant oysters to re-establish them in the area. Thanks to the philanthropy efforts of Plant A Fish, one million sea turtles will be restored to ensure continuation of the species of eastern Pacific Hawksbill turtles. It was thought this species was lost until recently a small population was located in El Salvador.

The mangrove program is another essential restoration program. Mangroves are nurseries from sea creatures and are one of the very best natural barriers against storms. Thanks to development and bulldozing, forests are dissapearing very fast. Plant A Fish will restore mangrove swamps where they are needed the most. Coral reefs are considered to be the luxury tropical forests of the seas but they are being ruined and destroyed thanks to boats striking them, storms and coral bleaching taking place. Plant A Fish philanthropy efforts will ensure that corals are replanted in locations such as the Florida Keys and Maldives.

The natural world including marine life is one of the most important changes that need making. Imagine a life without coral reefs in place, turtles breeding on the warm sunny beaches of the Maldives or mangroves dissapearing. This would have wreck havock on nature. Thanks to the philanthropy efforts of Fabien Cousteau and the many companies, individuals and people supporting him we may never have to worry about a life without marine life and creatures.
