Ritu Beri is an international fashion designer of the very best and the first Indian designer to head Scherrer, the French fashion brand. Ritu studied fashion art at NIFT in New Delhi and has been the only Indian designer to be featured in the magazine Acustyl which forecasts fashion trends globally.

Ms. Beri has many notable international clients including the former US President Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, Nicole Kidman and the Swarovski sisters among many others. Ritu Beri is one of the very best design pioneers, a global citizen and a success story from which fables are made. Ms. Beri brought her fashion label alive when in 1990 while India was still waking up to the couture era. She was the very first Indian fashion ambassador to show here designs on catwalks around Paris before travelling around the world to show here creations to critical acclaim.

The excellent designs from Ms. Beri gave the fashion connoisseurs of France an insight into mystical India which set Parisians buzzing with praise of the very best of the rich display of luxury silks, brocades and the use of Mogul motifs.

Many prestigious and elite names have worn the designs of Ms. Beri and the Ritu Beri label is seen in luxury fashion stores around the world. Ms. Beri has enjoyed some of the most critical of critics raising a toast to her signature styling. Ritu Beri achieved instant success with the Lavanya collection in 1990 in the Mecca of fashion at Londons Regent Street, a couple of Ms. Beris creations were instant sell outs in Liberty and it was not long before more luxury collections followed. Sanskriti in 1995 was another success; this collection was a path breaking way of tracing her roots. The creation was the result of a scintillating cultural heritage which she divided into sequences.

Ms. Beri launched Caring Means Sharing for people and animals. The project was aimed at funding animal care centers. Introducing a new and unique line of products that were animal styled the collection included t-shirts, caps, stuffed toys and numerous other products. All funds raised through the sales of the product line are instrumental in the creation of more animal care centers in India.

The fashion shows of Ritu Beri are mind blowing. Known for her love of creating a stir and being different Ms. Beri gave a new meaning to zippers at a fashion show in New Delhi. Here collection showed how zippers could be used as tools to create pieces of artistic excellence with fabrics of different shades, colors and textures. Ms. Beri created luxury designs for the youth along with those who are still young at heart.
