During the 80's Ernesto
Riva took over the ship building yard and while he kept to the same excellent standards of his father he also brought something else to the business – innovation. Ernesto began fitting piston engines to their boats and built boats with the aim of carrying not only passengers but also cargo.
Brother Serafino entered into the company and launched
Riva onto the racing scene. It was the competitiveness of Serafino that went on to take
Riva to enjoy many successes throughout their lifetime in boat racing.
Entering into the 1950's under Carlo
Riva the company began to enjoy worldwide success and became known as one of the most superb for quality, speed, and elegance in the building and racing of
luxury boats.
Riva became the choice for kings and queens, the international jet set and tycoons from around the world including Prince Rainier, Aristotle Onassis and Peter Sellers. Today
