In 1735, Jehan-Jaques Blancpain launched Blancpain as a cottage industry. Blancpain had the desire to rein over the art of luxury watchmaking, culturally and technically. Along with perfecting old movements, they began making their own tools for watchmaking and became the forerunners of Switzerland’s most prized industry. Dimensions are small but hold great works of art

The workshops of Blancpain are responsible for thousands of different watch parts. The smallest of these is only 0.05 mm thick, merely a hairs width. Each of these parts is lovingly protected from even the finest speck of dust, under a sheet of glass, and this is where they stay right up to the moment that they are hand assembled by the skilled watchmakers of Blancpain.
