Sotheby’s have proudly announced the sale of two spectacular
luxury blue diamonds at their forthcoming Magnificent Jewels Sale to be held at the Beau-Rivage Hotel in Geneva on Tuesday May 11th. The Geneva blue diamonds follows in the wake of the successful sale of the "De Beers Millennium blue diamond" which sold for $6.4 million on 7 April 2010 at
Sotheby's Hong Kong.
One of the
luxury stones is a fancy intense blue cushion shaped 7.64 carats diamond mounted in yellow gold and platinum expected to exceed the price estimate of roughly $ 4 - 6 million. The other
luxury stone is a rare pear shaped blue diamond set as a Toi et Moi ring weighing 5.02 carats and mounted aside a white diamond of the
finest luxury quality, is estimated at $4-7 million. GIA reports state the blue diamond is a vivid blue with the white diamond being D-colour and of flawless clarity, one of the
very best luxury diamonds in the world.
Sotheby’s are thrilled to offer such a ring of
luxury and
excellence as top quality blue diamonds are much sought after by collectors. Alexandre Reza's refined
luxury design combines beautifully, one of the
very best flawless white diamonds, with the vivid blue diamond, of the same shape and size. The piece highlights the
excellence of his creations.
