Grown skis is a daring and innovative Eco friendly company founded in 2007 in Munich, Germany. The long term goal of the company is to use their cutting edge products to raise awareness to inspire and implement solutions to ecological and social problems.

They create uniquely advanced and premium quality free ride skis that leave the smallest possible ecological footprint. Since 2007 they have been designed and developed in Germany and handmade in Europe. They are tried and tested extensively to ensure that the highest strength and durability is provided to customers. Grown skis have accompanied professionals all around the world in extreme physical conditions in places as distant as the Arctic.

They are favored among professional mountain and ski guides for their unique and balance between a durable structural wooden core and technical triasial basalt fibres. A specific virtual design process helps to create this finely attuned and perfected product. All of their skis have a stiffness, high torsional rigidity, low weight and a long lasting agility..

The new Outgrown range for the upcoming season of 2012 / 2013 is the result of continued efforts to perfect the already high quality products. It is an all mountain ski that features a range of specifications, giving owners a real performance on all kinds of surface. It is carved to allow a pleasant ride on the slopes while at the same time a high torsion means that owners can go for hard pack piste skiing. The skis themselves are light and wide enough for powder skiing to be a real possibility.

Outgrown skis consist of a wooden core of hard and dense European beech, a light European popler on the sides and a tough water resistant Robinia is used for the side walls. However the most intriguing and innovative aspect is the triaxaiola basalt fabric that sandwiches the core. This substance is pure crushed and heated volcanic basal rock developed by Grown skis for this purpose. A European cherry wood forms the the top sheet with inlets out of European walnut. All of the wood is carefully covers with layers of natural linessed oil.

All of the wood is taken from sustainable forests in carefully managed European facilities. The volcanic basalt was chosen to replace the more conventional glass and carbon fibers because of its far smaller carbon footprint.

Everybody at Grown is a dedicated skier, they are experienced individuals who simply love enjoying snow and nature. Friends of the firm are professional skiers and sustainability advocates who actively participate in spreading the message and ideals of the innovative firm. There is an open invitation to all individuals who have like minded ideas and they can receive a pro deal discount on all skis. It is a growing firm that is sending out a message of hope for a future filled with progress and sustainability.
