The principles behind the philanthropy organization Noor Dubai is simple. Everyone in the world regardless of whether they are on low incomes should have access to the very best eye health care if they suffer from visual impairment.

The philanthropy organization gives figures of over 285 million individuals suffering visual impairment around the world, these figures come from the World Health Organization. Another 39 million are blind and 264 million individuals have low vision. It is thought that a child will go blind every minute and every five seconds an adult will suffer blindness.

Visual impairment is thought to be distributed unequally over countries, genders and age groups, say the philanthropy organization. With more than 90% of those who are visually impaired residing in developing countries. Around 90% of individuals live in regions where eye care does not come at an affordable price and so they havent the luxury of getting care. While 82% of those who are blind happen to be over the age of 50, blindness does also occur in children with 1.4 million children below 15 years of age being currently blind, say the philanthropy organization.

It is also thought that one of the main causes of blindness is a lack of Vitamin A; around 400,000 children become blind each year due to a lack of the vitamin. Females are also typically at a higher risk than men of becoming blind.

The founder of the Noor Dubai philanthropy organization has always been known for his leadership and open mind along with sharp vision and he makes promises and keeps them. The philanthropy organization was founded after alarming statistics came out from the World health Organization about the number of people affected rising. One person somewhere in the world goes blind every 5 seconds. The philanthropy organization was set up with the vision of a world free of blindness from causes that are avoidable. Noor Dubai provides some of the very best educational programs, along with therapeutic ones, to prevent and treat blindness along with visual impairment in developing countries on an international scale.
