Rothschild wines are luxury premium wines of excellence and are classed among the very best in the world. The brand name has two very distinct lines of business, premium and branded wines. They are both under one single management that shares the same commitment to producing the very best.

The two wines are similar to two branches of the same family. One of the main factors behind their success is the art of blending. Excellent blending is what the brand name is recognized for around the globe and something they practice with exceptional virtuosity. The personnel on the estate combine traditional Bordeaux know how with some of the luxury wines that are matched perfectly to the expectations of the different markets of the company. They transform what are gifts from nature into works of art and sources of great pleasure. Each of the wines produced by the brand name comes from a blend of different varieties of grapes from various parts of the estate.

The Chateau Mouton Rothschild is owned by the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild along with her children. Today the luxury wines brand is known as one as one of the greatest wines. The story behind their success is one of combination of the soil, the climate and the devotion and dedication of the Baron. Life for the brand name began in 1853 when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild bought a Chateau and renamed it Chateau Mouton Rothschild. However it was not until 1922 when Baron Philippe began devoting his life to it that it did anything. The Barons ambition was to make the Chateau unique and producing some of the very best wines possible. He went to head the brand name for 65 years and introduce some new innovations including entire Chateau bottling in 1924. In 1926 he built what is now the famous Grand Chi, a 100 meter barrel hall which today remains one of the outstanding features of Mouton.

Success in luxury wines depends largely on what the customer wants and of course this changes according to tastes and fashionable new culinary trends. Due to this fact Baron Philippe de Rothschild regional overseas directors are citizens of the country in which they are based. This ensures they have the intimacy and the knowledge that is needed of each of the markets which is gained by day to day contact.
