Almost a century ago Georges Thienpont purchased the Vieux Chateau Certan, with determination to produce the very best wine. Today the Chateau and its vineyards is one of the most prestigious estates belonging to the Pomerol vineyard.

The aim today for the Chateau is to build upon the groundwork laid down by the previous generations and preserve the art de vivre or the family along with the natural beauty of this, one of the very best vineyards producing wine of luxury. The owners devote as much attention and care as they possibly can to making wine that has style and which will continue to enthrall enthusiasts from all over the world.

Vieux Chateau Certan is the embodiment of the highest expression of aromatic finesse along with elegance that is achieved on the luxury terroir. The character of the wine is mirrored superbly in the architecture of the Chateau, the grounds and garden and of course in the warm welcome that is extended to each and every guest to the Chateau who visits from all over the globe. The vineyard covers more than 14 hectares or 35 acres, in one single block and is the fruit of almost a century of hard work, determination and decision making.
