The Park Hotel was the vision of Hans and Rosalie Reuteler who realized that when the railway came to Gstaad in 1904 the village would need a luxury hotel. The establishment opened its doors and little did anyone realize that the Gstaad would become one of the most desirable of resorts around the globe. The establishment remained in the hands of the Reuteler family until 1987. Jean Nussbaumer took over and following two years of extensive restoration and addition the luxury hotel emerged as The Grand Hotel Park. In 1999 Theo Gerlach took over as owner followed by Dona Bertarelli in 2003, with great ambitions for what was to become one of the very best establishments in Gstaad. The Grand Hotel Park underwent another restoration bringing the luxury hotel up to 5 stars with one of the very best levels of service. The spa was renovated in 2006 and four years later the establishment celebrated its 100th anniversary.
