The new Amazon Kindle has been announced and is set to be red hot technology of the very best with the title of Kindle Fire. This is the latest release from Amazon and big brother to the Kindle.

This latest piece of luxury technology will be in direct competition with the likes of the Blackberry Playbook and Galaxy Tab and maybe even the iPad 2. One of the main features that stand out in Amazons favor is the price tag. This is aimed at being an affordable piece of luxury technology and one of its selling points is Amazon Silk. This is a totally new cloud accelerated browser.

At the moment the Kindle Fire is set to be launched on the 15th November on the US market, however there is as yet no release date of the UK. The Fire boasts a 7 inch LCD gorilla glass display which has 16 million colours. The unit is thirty times tougher than plastic and there are 169 pixels per inch, this is more than the display of the iPad 2 which has 132 ppi.

It is thought that the Amazon Kindle processor is a Texas instruments ARM based dual core OMAP CPU. This however has not been confirmed. The tablet will feature Amazons version of the Android operating system and as such it will offer multi-tasking of the very best. The user interface is centered on Amazon Cloud Player and Cloud Drive. At the top of the display the owners name is shown along with a search
