Grace Kelly will dominate the screens of the TIFF Bell Lightbox event this fall. There will be two of the
very best film programs that will complement the upcoming exhibition, Grace Kelly, From Movie Star to Princess. In conjunction with the exhibition on 4th November, Icey Fire: The Hitchcock Blonde which is an exploration of the directors obsession with the blonde goddess that Grace Kelly played in three of his films.In December there will be a month long Grace on Screen
event which takes a look at the screen career of Grace Kelly, from her very first appearances to some of her most famous roles. The Grace Kelly, From Movie Star to Princess
event will be a highlight for fans of Kelly and will bring all the charisma that made her so popular and such a huge star to the big screen. The
event will take place from 4th November 2011 to January 22nd 2012 and will feature
luxury items and artifacts that have rarely been displayed from the days when Kelly was one of Hollywoods most popular actresses to becoming a princess in what is one of Europes oldest royal families. The
event is based on the Grimaldi Forums, The Grace Kelly Years
event in Monaco along with the Victoria and Albert Museums Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition in London. The Bell Lightbox is the only North American venue to host elements from these shows and complements the
event with a film program.
A number of original
luxury dresses worn by Grace Kelly will be on show, along with a replica of the iconic wedding gown, the signature Kelly Bag and a tiara. Images from scrapbooks from her childhood will be shown along with high school yearbooks and a letter which was signed Affectionately Hitch by the director. Also on show at the
event will be an Academy Award for The Country Girl and glimpses into her private life thanks to some of the
very best in personal home movies. Icy Fire, The Hitchcock Blonde
event is a look at the blond sirens of Alfred Hitchcock and highlights the future Princess as being the epitome of untouchable blond goddesses. Hitchcock once said of Grace Kelly, she will be different in every movie she makes, because she plays a character from the inside out and there is no one like her. Grace Kelly was to lead the way for other blondes such as Janet Leigh, Doris Day, Kim Novak and Eva Marie Saint.Grace Kelly brought together the
very best, the Golden Age of Hollywood, European royalty and some of the
very best 20th century fashion. She was considered to be the epitome of glamour and elegance and a role model to women around the world. The TIFF Bell Lightbox is the perfect venue for the
event featuring one of the
very best on and off screen leading ladies.
