Montreux Jazz Festival
The Montreaux Jazz Festival is a superb music festival founded by Claude Nobs in 1967. The event has become an unmissable one for music fans around the world who travel to Switzerland to enjoy some of the very best when it comes to music greats. Artists have included Miles Davies, Ray Charles, David Bowie and Prince.
Jazz was always at the forefront of the festival but today other genres have been integrated. The program choices of the Festival have always ensured the event an outstanding reputation with the Montreaux Jazz Festival providing the ideal platform for musicians in one of the most stunning of settings in the world.
The Festival takes part over 16 days and is held in 12 venues, of which 10 of these are free to enter. More than 1000 musicians take part with the event attracting more than 230,000 visitors each year.
