Gstaad is well known as having the reputation of being the very best Alpine capital of some of the finest events. It is a beautiful luxury holiday destination where guests are encouraged to slow down and take life easy; Gstaad is also home to around 12,000 inhabitants. Gstaad offers both cultural and sporting events, some of which are extraordinary; over 1,000 events are offered for guests and inhabitants enjoyment, with just one of these being the Hublot Polo Gold Cup, the high goal tournament on the Polo World Tour.

The Polo Cup Gstaad is international and has been established as one of the major attractions in Gstaad, a social highlight of the elite.

Every year this is where the sport of kings makes a large impact on the peaceful luxury Alpine city of Gstaad. Top ranked players of the very best take part in hard fought battles, to take coveted world ranking points. The choice of home for the tournament is as much loved as the tournament itself, with unique character set against the authentic and unique backdrop of the mountains.

In 2010, the Gold Cup Gstaad Polo tournament celebrates its 15th anniversary, and for the third time it is held in partnership with Hublot, taking place over the 19th to 22nd August. The tournament held on the grounds of the Gstaad/Saanen airfield sees four teams of elite players taking part in the match on the Berner Oberland, an absolute must see event in the series of most prestigious of international tournaments. The luxury event is just one part of World Polo Tour, which comprises of some of the world’s very best top polo tournaments, establishing international ranking of polo players.

This year sees four elite high goal teams play with a handicap of 16 to 18. Captained by Gualtiero Giori, Philipp Maeder, Stefano, Marsaglia, and Fabien Pictet, these four passionate players have plenty of lasting experience on the polo ground of Gstaad.

During the three days of competition players aim to score as many goals as possible, which in turn will improve their individual position within the World Polo Ranking. The main challenge of this year’s tournament is to beat "Fabien Pictet's" team who have won the last two Gstaad tournaments, and promises to be a captivating and superb sporting event. As always, the main objective of the event at Gstaad is to provide a fabulous and unique experience for spectators in one of the world’s most luxury settings.
