In 2010, the Gold Cup
Gstaad Polo tournament celebrates its 15th anniversary, and for the third time it is held in partnership with Hublot, taking place over the 19th to 22nd August. The tournament held on the grounds of the
Gstaad/Saanen airfield sees four teams of elite players taking part in the match on the Berner Oberland, an absolute must see event in the series of most
prestigious of international tournaments. The
luxury event is just one part of World Polo Tour, which comprises of some of the world’s
very best top polo tournaments, establishing international ranking of polo players.
This year sees four elite high goal teams play with a handicap of 16 to 18. Captained by Gualtiero Giori, Philipp Maeder, Stefano, Marsaglia, and Fabien Pictet, these four passionate players have plenty of lasting experience on the polo ground of
Gstaad.
During the three days of competition players aim to score as many goals as possible, which in turn will improve their individual position within the World Polo Ranking. The main challenge of this year’s tournament is to beat "Fabien Pictet's" team who have won the last two
Gstaad tournaments, and promises to be a captivating and superb sporting event. As always, the main objective of the event at
Gstaad is to provide a fabulous and unique experience for spectators in one of the world’s most
luxury settings.
